handing over the moneys to the Committee of the Missions to Seamen in Hong Kong as the new building progresses, the
balance being used towards furnishing the new Home and the
creation of an Endowment Fund. When the Trustees cease
to be a corporate body, arrangements can possibly be made
for the money to be paid over to the Missions to Seamen direct.
As regards the payment of the instalments it
might be convenient for the first payment to be made on the
First July, 1929, and the balance by annual instalments
of not more than $180,000.
The Trustees of the Sailors' Home as a result of
conversations they had with the representatives of the
Committee of the Missions to Seamen in Hong Kong are given to
understand that the proposals as above set out are approved
of by their Institution and my Trustees will be glad to know
whether the scheme has the approval of the Government, also
whether the Government approves of the new proposals for
the acquisition of the Marine Lot No.187 by them.
Should you deem it advisable to have an interview
for the purpose of discussing the whole proposition, I
shall be much obliged if you will kindly let me know when
it will be convenient to you for me to call on you.

I have the honour etc.,
